And the real reason for this post:
I stopped by AC Moore last night to pick up some things to get started on my notebook. It can be as simple or fancy as you want-- just photos and text, or photos, stickers and all kinds of fun stuff. Just remember to buy a lightweight notebook that's small enough to fit in a standard 8.5" x 11" envelope. A spiral journal-type thing like you can get at a bookstore works great for this.
Some things you may want to consider getting to get started:
--colored pens or markers
--stamps (Craft stores have stamps with almost any picture/word imaginable, and various colors of ink.)
--scissors for making unique edges (like these)
--a scrapbooking glue pen (When I made a notebook before, I used glue stick but found that it was hard to keep it in a small area, and the pages would end up sticking together. A glue pen allows you to be more precise, and looks better than tape.)
--colored paper (Good for placing behind a photo like a frame.)
Stock up on supplies now so you won't have to worry about buying new stuff whenever you get a notebook to add to. Also, if you don't want to cut up photos to paste into books, consider getting some glossy photo paper from an office supply store to print your photos on. If you use a digital camera, you can order prints of your digital photos very cheap from the Walmart.com photo center. Just upload the photos, select how many prints you want, and select the store you want to pick them up at.
I think that's it for now. If anyone has any ideas to add to this list, please mention them in a reply to this post!
